I’m traveling from Tucson, Arizona, to South Australia and the Northern Territory to learn about responses to rapid and extreme impacts from climate change. I work on conservation of biological diversity, water, and ecosystems for Sky Island Alliance in Arizona and Mexico. During my travels in Australia I’ll be visiting with a diverse array of colleagues and local residents, and traveling to field sites to explore questions like: What similarities are there between Australia and the Sky Island Region? How are organizations and governments addressing climate change at large landscape scales? How are they protecting biological diversity, conserving water sources, and stewarding springs? How do they incorporate the knowledge, rights and values of indigenous communities?
Follow my travels and discoveries on this blog and learn a thing or two about Aussie lingo along the way.
